The good thing about the summer in the city is, that the pools are opening - and even better - that they're for free. The only thing one needs to get used to in order to enjoy the cool water is the insane amount of rules the city came up with for the pools.
We went last weekend to the one in Red Hook (The Red Hook Recreation Centre) to see 20 lifeguards (yes! 20) guarding the public part of the pool which is approximately 40x40 m. TWENTY!
And all of them constantly whistled at people to tell them off having fun. It was amazing. Of course Camera Diaz' are forbidden in the pool area as well, so I couldn't sneak out a picture of the jail like scene but I will try to get one for you - dear reader - on my next trip down there.
